As a team of associates we bring a variety of frontline experience and expertise to the work we undertake as Sarah Wigley Associates. We are all professional trainers with a frontline background in the field of family violence, working with victims and perpetrators across numerous disciplines including the criminal justice system. All associates work at both a local and national level with some of the key national agencies within the domestic abuse sector. Victims of domestic abuse might ask anyone for help depending on their circumstances at any given time. We believe it is vital that training is translated into improved practice to ensure that both adult and child victims receive help and support at the earliest opportunity. Our training also focuses on engaging with perpetrators of domestic abuse for those that work across the family. We promote the use of evidence based learning and critical thinking as key components of practice in order to positively impact the experience of both adult and child victims of domestic abuse. We challenge delegates to reflect on their own practice in a supportive environment and consider how they might take the learning into their professional role. |
The course was informative and well led with an equal balance of teaching and interaction. I feel this course should be mandatory for Senior Managers"

We are busy updating our current courses and writing new materials during this time. We anticipate this activity (fingers crossed) will resume in the Autumn. In the meantime please contact us through our contact page or at training@sarahwigleyassociates.co.uk We are also currently turning our attention to front line work to support the domestic abuse sector. Many domestic abuse services continue to operate and are finding creative ways to engage with victims who are experiencing heightened levels of isolation. We consistently retweet messages from front line organisations of the services they offer. If you are in danger please dial 999. The Police will respond to you. |

" a massive help in building on my knowledge and confidence when working with DA perpetrators and victims"
Early Help Team, Children's Social Care
Sarah Wigley has spent her adult career working within the field of family violence. Whilst working front line within the domestic sector, Sarah realised that there was a need for expertise in relation to domestic abuse to extend beyond the specialist domestic abuse sector. Whilst great strides have been made since those early days there is still some way to go! Sarah now works with a team of associates, specialising in supporting front line professionals and agencies whose work involves engaging with and responding to victims of domestic abuse. It is a key aim that all professionals have an increased awareness and confidence to identify domestic abuse and respond appropriately both directly to the client and within the multi agency arena. Projects have ranged from designing and delivering bespoke training packages to consultancy focusing on how best to shape a local support service in such a way that survivors and their safety remain at the heart of the service. Training is bespoke and designed to fit a specific need....contact us for a chat! |
